U.N. Voting Patterns

For more than three decades, United Nations organizations have pursued actions that would undermine Israel and delegitimize the Jewish state, over the objections of the United States and other nations. Anti-Israel bias exists throughout the UN system, its main bodies and committees, and even its specialized agencies.

Res. C 2021

The Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People and Other Arabs of the Occupied Territories (SCIIHRP), also known as Special Committee on Israeli Practices, was created on December 19, 1968 by United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2443. There are three member states of this committee: Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Senegal. The Special Committee investigates alleged human rights violations in the disputed territories and Israeli settlements in those territories. It submits an annual report on its findings to the UN Fourth Committee. This report is then ratified by the General Assembly. Israel has refused to cooperate with the Special Committee or to facilitate its activities. The Special Committee’s mandate has been renewed every year since it was established.
